Spirox P Meditech Spirometer
The Spirox-p peak flow meter is a portable medical device for determining lung function, which measures the maximum possible exhalation of the user, called peak expiratory flow (PEF) and forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1). The measurement accuracy complies with the standards BS EN ISO 26782: 2009 and BS EN ISO 23747: 2009.
The peak flow meter is used to measure a person's peak expiratory flow; it is a simple measurement of air flow that can tell the user how well they are breathing. It will inform the user how well air is passing through the airways to their lungs. Forced expiratory volume (FEV1) is an indicator of the volume of air exhaled in 1 second. If the user has breathing problems such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or chronic bronchitis, the doctor may recommend that the patient use a peak flow meter to monitor changes in air flow in their lungs. The doctor will provide the patient with a treatment plan that indicates what actions to take when they notice changes in air flow rate. In addition to this, the patient should record peak expiratory flow values as recommended by the doctor.
Spirox-p is a convenient device for use by both preschool children and adults. Since the meter is equipped with automatic memory for three hundred measurements, the user can take it with them during their next visit to the doctor to review many readings with them. Based on them, the doctor will prepare an appropriate treatment plan and help their patients restore their health.
The Spirox-p peak flow meter can be connected to a USB port when the number of measurement readings reaches its maximum, or when readings need to be taken from another patient. In this case, the user can transfer their records to a PC via USB, and then the software will help store and track them over a long period of time.
